Summary and Qualifications The technologist conducts procedures to
provide data to assist in the diagnosis of patients. The position's
tasks and responsibilities include: - Demonstrates responsibility
and accountability in the performance of CT scans assessment and
reassessment and implementation of the patient's orders in
accordance with the department and organizational standards and
policies - Completes patient documentation specific to CT scans -
Assist Physicians and Radiologist during procedures. - Performs CT
scans in a timely and efficient manner. - Positions and prepares
patients for exams according to the type of procedure to be
performed - Completes appropriate documentation for each study
performed - Performs all computer and PACS functions - Observes
safety regulations and aseptic practice techniques to protect
patients and staff - Maintains thorough knowledge of the scanners
and exam protocols in order to ensure the highest quality
procedures - Utilizes knowledge of age specific needs of patient in
performance of duties and responsibilities. - Orients and mentors
new staff members. - Provides a safe environment for administering
contrast material. - Assists with transporting patients. - Follows
Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as
required. - Excellent communication and customer service skills. -
Ability to work with minimal supervision. - Ability to make
independent decisions while maintaining act, maturity and a
positive attitude. Initiative and judgment required in assuming
responsibilities. - Performs high-level disinfection. - Operates
x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the
body. - Under the supervision of a Radiologist, performs
x-ray/fluoro procedures on patients. - Explains procedures to
patients and addresses their concerns. - May administer barium
salts or other chemical mixtures. - Operates stationary equipment
and/or portable equipment used in the Emergency Department,
Operating Room and at patient bedside. - Takes pictures and
develops images. What qualifications you will need: - 1.
Education/Skills Technical degree or vocational training 1.
Experience Prefer at least 1 year of CT experience 1. Licenses,
Registrations and/or Certifications - ARRT(R) or ARRT (N)(CT) - MRT
- BLS obtained by HCA approved vendor. - ARRT (CT) preferred. 1.
Specific Requirements Must be able to be on an on-call status and
respond within thirty (30) minutes of notification. Must be able to
work at the main facility, Saginaw FSED, and Haslet FSED, depending
