From our central commissary kitchen, we supply four retail locations with a diverse range of offerings, including coffee, cakes, sandwiches, tarts, packaged goods, and artisan breads. Our commitment to freshness ensures that all our products are baked and prepared daily.Job Overview:We are seeking a Head Baker to lead and manage our production facility. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in lamination and artisan baking, as well as a proven track record of managing kitchen staff and overseeing high-volume production. This role is crucial to maintaining the exceptional quality of our products and driving continuous improvement in our processes. The ideal candidate will also be involved in creating new products.Responsibilities:Leadership: Lead and motivate the baking and production staff to maximize labor efficiency and achieve production goals.Training: Train new employees on best practices to reduce waste and ensure consistent quality.Purchasing: Manage purchasing for production needs, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of ingredients.Inventory Management: Oversee inventory, ensuring proper product rotation and minimizing waste.Supervision: Supervise workflow, ensuring adherence to techniques and providing assistance as needed.Product Development: Collaborate on the development of new products and process improvements.Production Planning: Develop and implement production schedules to meet the demands of all retail locations, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of products.Quality Control: Establish and maintain quality control standards for all products, conducting regular inspections to ensure compliance.Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve production processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs.Safety and Compliance: Ensure the production facility adheres to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, implementing and monitoring safety protocols.Budget Management: Assist in managing the production budget, monitoring expenses, and ensuring cost-effective operations.Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, including key metrics and improvement plans.Qualifications:4-8 years of experience in laminated dough and artisan bread production.Proven experience in managing a full kitchen staff.Strong knowledge of all products produced by Village Baking Co.Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and product consistency.Experience managing high-volume production in a facility operating 7 days a week.Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Why Join Us?Be a part of a dedicated team committed to excellence and innovation.Opportunity to lead and grow within a well-established bakery.Contribute to a company that values quality, tradition, and community.If you have a passion for artisan baking and a knack for leadership, we invite you to join the Village Baking Co. family and help us continue to delight our customers with fresh, high-quality products.
