The Payroll Specialist at Mill Creek Residential will perform payroll accounting and administrative duties to support the Payroll department including setting up voluntary deductions, processing and auditing payroll, auditing payroll reports, processing tax forms and resolving payroll issues.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform daily payroll department operations
  • Calculate the correct payroll amount incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses, etc. with assistance of the HRIS.
  • Receive approval from direct manager and/or senior management for payroll compensation as required.
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
  • Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
  • Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
  • Execute Time Management time and attendance processing and interface with payroll
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc)
  • Develop ad hoc payroll and operational reporting as needed
  • Process manual check as required
  • Load import files received from HR
  • Research and email appropriate audience of file issues
  • Respond to Service Now associate tickets
  • Perform other duties as assigned
    Education and/or Experience
    • High School Diploma/GED.
    • CPP preferred but not required.
    • 4-6 years' experience processing multi-state payroll.
      Skills/Specialized Knowledge
      • Working knowledge of payroll best practices.
      • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.
      • Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel.
      • Working knowledge of Time Management systems.
      • Strong work ethic and team player.
      • High degree of professionalism.
      • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
      • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
      • Ability to communicate with various levels of management.
      • Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
      • Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
