Blucora, the parent company of Avantax Wealth Management, Avantax
Planning Partners, and TaxAct is seeking a Director, HR Business
Partner Group (Director, HRBP) who will lead our team of HR
Business Partner and HR Manager professionals who partner with
business leaders and managers to translate talent, culture, and DEI
priorities into relevant, scalable plans to attract, develop,
engage, and retain best-in-class talent. This role recommends and
designs HR policies, practices, and procedures to ensure that
company policies and procedures are consistently and equitably
applied and that all legal requirements are met. Incumbents will
also act as a focal point for select client groups.Essential Duties
& Responsibilities The major responsibilities of the position are
listed below. To perform the job successfully, the individual must

to perform the essential functions. Lead, coach, and develop a team
of HR Business Partners and Employee Relations professionals to
deliver best-in-class people enablement strategies and activities,
as well as human resources policy and procedures. Develop and drive
the HRBP and Employee Relations strategic roadmap and deliver
tangible operational results.Be a vocal champion of fostering a
diverse, inclusive workforce and a results-oriented culture of
learning and belonging at all levels of the organization.Highly
Engaged Hybrid Workplace Champion - Act as a thought partner and
drive employee engagement as team members, teams, and the company
navigate a hybrid workplace which includes a cadence of in-office
accelerated collaboration, permanently remote team members, and a
work-from-home environment.In partnership with CHRO, develop and
write HR Policy, procedures, and Employee Handbook to fit the
organization's needs while ensuring adherence and organizational
compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.Apply
sound, ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and
business practices, while escalating, managing, and reporting
employee relations and control issues with transparency. Provide
input to the design of HR employee lifecycle processes and lead
your team to drive execution across client groups, including
performance management, team member engagement, organizational
design, workforce planning, succession management, people
development, compensation planning, and communications and change
management.Seek out and remain aware of emerging trends and best
practices to ensure alignment of the people strategy to the
business objectives.Utilize data and insights to drive
decision-making, and proactively solve for trends.Organizational
Effectiveness and Leadership Coaching - Introduce and use effective
frameworks and strategies that enable the organization to thrive
through periods of change and provide coaching that helps leaders
and team members develop and grow.HR People Plans - Develop
data-driven, scalable frameworks, and tools, and guide the HRBP
team to develop near-term and long-term plans for all business
segments and shared services organizations. This includes
collaborating with HR leadership and business leaders to identify
business priorities and develop and execute the work of a human
resource plan to build consistency within assigned client groups
and across the organization. The incumbent will ensure alignment of
the HR people plan, people programs, and tools with strategic
business goals, and advice on the development and implementation of
a holistic HR people plan (e.g., people analytics, talent
management, team development, performance management, leadership
effectiveness, culture, employee engagement) on behalf of assigned
client groups.Strategic Talent Management - Drive the holistic
identification and prediction of current and future talent needs
and influence the design and implementation of strategic talent
management solutions in alignment with organizational strategy,
data, and budgets. In partnership with our HR Centers of Expertise
(COE) teams, design talent movement plans for critical roles and
establish a talent pipeline. Identify strategies to influence
talent development plans and programs and establish a roadmap to
build capabilities by helping business leaders make decisions to
build, recruit, or consider internal talent and assess the impact
of the decisions. Guide and participate in active talent
acquisition activity for assigned client groups' ongoing
recruitment.Change Design & Execution - Ensure the HRBP team is
trained and equipped to design and lead change initiatives. With
the team or solo driver of projects, identify the needs for change,
and lead the implementation and adaption of new or changing
structures (leadership, organizational, or team), cultural change,
or programs/processes (e.g., training, talent movement) for the
organization. Drive and/or contribute to developing change
management and communication plans in collaboration with the
Corporate Communications team and business leaders.Organizational
Design - Collaborate with business leaders to interpret business
needs and people priorities. Contribute to the design and/or
integration of the holistic organizational plan (i.e., talent,
structure, culture, process) for the assigned organization(s)
and/or functional groups. Partner with businesses to monitor,
execute, and continue to evolve and inform the design.Leadership,
People Manager & Team Performance - Improve people manager
capability through developing and executing programming, in
partnership with other HR CEOs. . Guide team to interpret metrics
to monitor and ensure leadership and manager performance, and
identify strategies and action plans to enable leadership, manager,
and team transformation. Design and manage or oversee the
implementation of interventions to improve leadership, manager,
team, and employee performance and capability. Coach HRBP team,
managers, and leaders to facilitate organizational change and model
our Guiding Principles & Behaviors. Limited travel is possible.
Other duties as assigned.Education & Experience Bachelor's degree
in Business Administration, Human Resources, Psychology, etc., or
equivalent experience required; Master's Degree in Business, Human
Resources, or Psychology preferred.10+ years of related experience
is required, preferably as a strategic-level Human Resources
Business Partner leader with demonstrated success in leading,
coaching, and developing a team within a mid-size, high-growth
organization.Working knowledge of multi-state employment laws.
Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate
sections of laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and
policies.Strong collaborator, and player-coach who is passionate
about developing team members to deliver amazing business outcomes
and people-centric solutions.Confident communicator (including both
written and verbal skills) who can effectively present to all
levels of the organization.Strong business acumen with the ability
to acquire a thorough understanding of the company's operations, as
well as the Human Resources organization and programs.Proven
ability to influence decision-making at all levels within the
organization.Courage to make tough decisions and deliver difficult
messages with professionalism and poise.Comfortable and practiced
in working in ambiguous business situations.Strong expertise in
developing business solutions based on facts/data
analytics.Consultative style and approach with proven ability to
develop credible relationships and business partners.Demonstrated
ability to diagnose organizational issues, develop solutions, and
implement people plans and actions.Capable of leveraging metrics
and drawing insights from data and information to enable informed
decision-making.Must be customer-focused, flexible, receptive to

orientation.Work effectively in group settings with the ability to
remain professional and calm, despite pressure and
uncertainty.Excellent organizational and time management

Office Suite or related software.Experience with developing,
promoting, and implementing HR-related programs and protocol,
preferably within a start-up and/or fast-paced, high-growth
organization.Experience leading large-scale change management
initiatives, using proven change management principles, tools, and
methodologies.Working knowledge of multiple human resource
disciplines, such as compensation practices, organizational
analysis, culture, employee engagement, performance management,
etc.Experience working within a Center of Expertise (COE) human
resources operations structure is preferred.Physical Demand & Work
