Purpose of JobWe are seeking talented Software Engineers - Early Careers for our San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX or Phoenix, AZ facility. With us, you'll find exciting challenges that inspire you to continue learning and growing.Primary Responsibilities:Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job roleEnsures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlledFollows written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activitiesUnder direct supervision, design, develop, code, and test technical solutionsWrite code to deliver features, and improvements, on a regular basisVerify and resolve technical problems and production issues through troubleshooting techniquesImprove application stability and scalabilityCreate and maintain technical documentationCreate and improve automated tests and code qualityWriting both frontend and backend code - this task can be combined with 2nd task.Minimum Qualifications: Pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems or related information technology field at a 4-year accredited universityGraduation date cannot exceed more than 12 months at time of applicationIncoming hires must have a completed college degree by employment start dateUp to 2 years of software development experienceProven learning ability and problem-solving skillsBasic Understanding of one or more of the following: Java, Swift, Objective-C, Cobol, JavaScript, Kotlin, C++, HTML, CSS, SQLCompensation:USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $70,000 - $75,000.Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.Geographical Differential: Geographic pay differential is additional pay provided to eligible employees working in locations where market pay levels are above the national average.Shift premium will be addressed on an individual basis for applicable roles that are consistently scheduled for non-core hours.Benefits:At USAA our employees enjoy best-in-class benefits to support their physical, financial, and emotional wellness.
