We have identified Managed Service Providers (MSPs) as the new growth engine and primary Route to Market for Cisco SD-WAN. We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate SD-WAN Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in enabling our Top MSPs to sell Cisco SD-WAN and SASE solutions at scale to Cisco Enterprise end-customers.
Job Description:

Are you a dedicated SD-WAN expert with a knack for eliminating barriers and driving growth in the MSP sector? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as an SD-WAN Engineer at Cisco Systems. In this role, you will leverage your deep expertise in SD-WAN to empower our MSP partners and help them excel in selling Cisco SD-WAN and SASE solutions. Your responsibilities will encompass technical leadership, solution design, integration, and collaboration across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Leadership: Serve as a trusted advisor and extended team member for Managed Service Providers, offering your expertise and guidance to accelerate their success with Cisco SD-WAN.

2. Solution Design: Collaborate with MSPs to create SD-WAN Bill of Materials, ensuring customized solutions that meet their specific requirements.

3. Proof of Concept (PoC) and Proof of Value (PoV): Work closely with MSPs to plan, assist, and drive PoCs and PoVs for end customers, showcasing the value of Cisco SD-WAN and SASE.

4. Lab Management: Keep PoC/PoV labs up to date and train MSP partners to maintain their Cisco demo skills at the highest level with the help of TSA (Technical Solutions Architects).

5. Certification Testing: Conduct feature and certification testing to assist MSPs in releasing certified code quicker to market.

6. API Integration: Provide guidance on integrating Cisco SD-WAN and SASE APIs into existing MSP tools, with practical API integration skills being a significant advantage.

7. Umbrella and Duo Integration: Demonstrate expertise in integrating and showcasing Umbrella and Duo security solutions within the context of SD-WAN.

8. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other SD-WAN team members, TSA's, PSS's, and cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless experience when selling SD-WAN to MSP partners.

9. Accelerate New Features: Work with BE TME's (Technical Marketing Engineers) and CX (Customer Experience) teams to accelerate the adoption of new SD-WAN features and reduce post-installation issues.

10. Sales Support: Leverage your sales experience to support MSPs in effectively selling Cisco SD-WAN solutions.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification is preferred.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing SD-WAN solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco SD-WAN technologies, including Viptela and Meraki.
  • Proficiency in routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
  • Strong understanding of network security concepts and best practices.
  • Experience with cloud-based networking solutions and services.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric mindset.

    Additional Skills and Qualities (Plus):

    • Location Flexibility: Candidates located in Dallas and NJ are preferred, but we are open to considering other locations.
    • API Expertise: Proficiency in API programming, particularly in recommending API calls for integrating new features into monitoring tools.
    • DevNet Certification: Possession of a DevNet certification is a significant advantage.
    • CCIE Routing/Switching: CCIE Routing/Switching certification is a strong plus.
    • SD-WAN Mastery Course: Completion of the SD-WAN Mastery Course and membership in Enterprise VT is highly valued.

      When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location.       U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.

      Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%. Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
