-Job Title: -Senior Specialist, Software Engineering -Job Code: -15001 -Job Location: Greenville, Texas (Responsibilities must be performed on-site.) - -Job Schedule: 9/80 Work Schedule - (Every other Friday is a non-workday.) -Job Description: - -L3Harris is currently seeking a Senior Specialist, Software Engineer to join our team. This position will be based at our Greenville, TX facility and offers a 9/80 schedule. -Essential Functions: Design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance Java software applications in multi-tier architectures to configure and manage Mission Communications Systems equipment in a CMMI Level 3 environment.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications. Document software designs, practices, and development procedures. Conduct automated testing and unit test of resultant software.Integrate software components with hardware to ensure seamless operation of Mission Communications Systems equipment. Engage and lead code reviews and system design reviews.Support continuous improvement, process innovation and lessons learned activities into software development process.Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers. -Job Qualification Requirements: - -Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. A degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline is highly desired. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. -Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship is required.Experience as Software Developer is required. -Preferred Additional Skills:An active DoD Top Secret (SCI) security clearance.5+ years with software configuration management.5+ years in Object Oriented Programming with a strong focus on JavaProficient in designing and developing multi-threaded, distributed systems. - Familiarity with databases (SQL, and NoSQL) and RESTful APIsFamiliarity with Networking/Telecommunication fundamentals and equipment.Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g. Git, SVN, etc.)Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Able to learn quickly and apply new concepts to development tasks.Capable of collaborating closely with other engineers in a small team or working independently as needed. Able to design, implement, and deploy a solution from scratch with technical support. - -
