We are seeking for an Electrical Space Vehicle Sr. Principal Systems Engineer who brings space vehicle system leadership and engineering knowledge to our EO/IR Weather System (EWS) program. The successful candidate will have prior experience and/or knowledge across all subsystems of the Space Vehicle and Bus. Key subsystems of interest include, Command & Data Handling (C&DH), Power, Attitude Control, Communications, and EO/IR Payload subsystems. The candidate should also have experience with Launch systems integration and logistics as well as early on-orbit operations and test and possess a detailed understanding of the electrical design discipline based on hands-on experience. The Electrical Space Vehicle Sr. Principal Systems engineer will engage at a high operational tempo and demonstrate the ability to react quickly to changes in both plans and priorities while maintaining the execution rigor needed to ensure mission success. The role will also be a strategic position requiring daily contact with multiple organizations as well as customer counterparts.

Responsibilities include providing technical direction to the bus and communication subsystem supplier, communicating changes and issues with the EWS Mission System Engineering team, and development/management of the integration, test, and logistics needed to successfully integrate the space vehicle with high confidence, which includes transportation to the launch site.

Required Skills:
--- 8+ years engineering experience with at least 5 years working space vehicle and/or bus systems engineering
--- Experience with a dynamic collaborative environment including multi-functional and cross-site teams
--- Experience with Space Vehicle Electrical Systems Integration and Test
--- Demonstrated strong organization, coordination, planning, and team building skills
--- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills
--- Ability to managing interdependencies, identifying disconnects, between current and future architectures, requirements, and interfaces, and resolving system issues
--- Ability to perform trade studies from "first principles" and basic engineering fundamentals to drive a design from inception forward
--- Hands on experience working with electrical design teams
--- Programming experience (MATLAB or similar)
--- U.S. Citizenship status
--- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

Desired Skills:
--- Experience with Space Qualification
--- Experience with the Full System Life Cycle (from customer requirements through launch integration)
--- Experience with the Spacecraft Electronic Power Subsystem
--- Experience with Launch Systems Integration
--- Experience with of Communication Payloads
--- Experience with requirements analysis, capture, flow down and verification
--- Experience managing system electrical interfaces
--- Experience managing system budgets (Power, etc)
--- Experience with project management

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Sciences, Math, or related discipline

Desired Education:
Master's degree in Engineering, Sciences, Math, or related discipline

** U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position requires the ability to obtain DoD Secret U.S. Security Clearance within one year of start date**
