WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

The Senior Manager, TSG Product Management (Team Collaboration) will act as Product Manager for Bain's conferencing experience. Conferencing technology has become a crucial and core capability for Bain in this remote & virtual world. This position will be responsible for establishing the strategic direction for conferencing at Bain and for helping the responsible product manager turning technology into business value. This includes monitoring customer sentiment for existing conferencing technologies, exploring technical capabilities of competing platforms and investigating optimal access/integration of different features and/or platforms. Goal is to understand how to best meet the strategic conferencing/collaboration needs of our evolving business with minimal customer disruption. Overall, this requires monitoring a quickly changing market, setting and implementing a conferencing strategy that integrates with the overarching Team Collaboration and Bain technology vision. The Senior Manager is responsible for piloting and implementing conferencing platform solutions and optimal integration approaches along with Microsoft Teams (Bain notebooks), mobile assistant/apps approaches (Bain smartphones) and conference room technology (Bain Office rooms).

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Achieve domain expertise

  • Using industry analysts, vendors and other sources maintain a current knowledge of the vendor and business landscapes
  • Develop understanding of competitor strategy & understand emerging innovations within market
  • Understand technical topics at a conceptual level, collaborating with Technical Managers to inform a technology strategy that aligns with overall product strategy
  • Lead recommendations to TSG and business leadership for new tools or platforms that create an innovative conferencing experience

Set product vision

  • Incorporate market analysis, vendor roadmap information, customer feedback, and expert input, to set a multi-year roadmap for Bain's conferencing experience, for both the virtual and conference room experience
  • Work with Bain Technology managers to understand how the vision fits with Bain's overall technology roadmap
  • Translate customer feedback and vendor roadmaps into actionable ideas/recommendations for optimal integration of features and platforms (see below)
  • Ensure vision is fully integrated with broader Team collaboration experience

Implement product strategy

  • Define and provide overall leadership for projects and initiatives required to meet the product objectives and the road map milestones. This will involve initiatives of varying scope and scale.
  • Maintain detailed project plans and communicate product updates to senior stakeholders
  • Acts as the "voice of the customer", creating and implementing mechanisms to gather ongoing customer feedback and sentiment across all persona levels
  • Tracks and reports on KPIs and success metrics for the product, informing areas of improvement and key business decisions
  • Maintains a clear, prioritized product backlog based on business value and stakeholder (customer) input
  • Works with technical teams and vendors to further integrate and improve implemented conferencing experience
  • Drives appropriate customer communication & training as needed
  • Reinforces agile ways of working amongst product and technical teams, ensuring clear goals are set for each sprint and clearly communicating product vision to technical teams

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business/IT related field or business experience as required for an experienced Consultant / new Manager level
  • Required
  • 5-8+ years of progressive experience
  • 1 to 3 years' experience in a product strategy role or 3-5 in a requirements role (e.g. Business Analyst)
  • Preferred: Experience with agile development and writing user stories
  • Strong communication skills, can explain complex requirements to engineering team or propose strategic direction to leadership team
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams ranging in seniority and create a consensus between stakeholders
  • Ability to develop productive working relationships with both technical and non-technical partners, across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to understand complex business needs, competitive offerings, and industry trends and translate them to customer-facing solutions
  • Experience working with and presenting to senior level teams/stakeholders
  • Ability to work plan, and drive their own work
  • High performance standards as demonstrated by academic or previous job experience
