Location: Dallas-Fort Worth, TX; Woodlands, TX; or Atlanta, GA (REQUIRED)

Unique opportunity to join McKesson's Pharmaceutical Solutions and Services legal team as a Senior Legal Specialist focusing primarily on the Provider Solutions customer segment. You will be a critical member of a collaborative and innovative team managing all legal matters for the company's active pharmaceutical specialty sell-side distribution team. You will also have the ability to develop critical skills and demonstrate readiness for increased responsibility.

Current Need:

McKesson's well-regarded Law Department is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Specialist to support and assist McKesson's Provider Solutions customer segment, which includes sell-side distribution and ancillary services to specialty physician practice groups. You will also have opportunities to work on various special projects. This position reports to the Managing Counsel.

We supply pharmaceuticals and other healthcare-related services and technology products to a wide range of retail and institutional pharmacy customers. Our nation-wide network of distribution centers supply medication to 1/3 of all health care providers in the United States, and we frequently invest in technology and other systems to enhance the safety and reliability of our core distribution services and technology offerings. Our Provider Solutions customer segment is a key component to the success of our business.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Review, draft, analyze, and negotiate distribution contracts and related documents under supervision of counsel
  • Research and track relevant healthcare and contractual issues to stay abreast of matters that may impact McKesson, as needed
  • Follow up on pending responses or questions on the responses
  • Coordinate with legal team and relevant business units on multiple projects and workstreams
  • Help develop best practices for business units
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, develop plans and manage implementation
  • Serve as liaison with multiple business units and cross-functional groups

Qualifications

Education:

  • Degree or equivalent required
  • Paralegal certificate or other graduate degree desirable

Minimum Requirements:

  • Typically requires 5+ years of relevant experience

Critical Skills:

  • 5+ years relevant Paralegal experience
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating contracts
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Power Point required
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate with senior executives
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Keen attention to detail; Excellent research skills
  • Superior ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in an efficient and timely manner
  • Highly responsive, proactive, solutions-oriented approach
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Excellent business judgment and strategic thinking
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a collegial, fast-paced team environment
  • Thirst for learning
  • Willingness to pitch in on special projects and ad hoc assignments, including research and contract review and drafting

Additional Knowledge & Skills:

  • Prior experience with or exposure to healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and/or wholesale distribution highly preferred
  • Pramata, Microsoft Teams, WebEx
