The Device and Partner Sales (DPS) team plays a critical role in achieving this mission. We build and sell intelligent edge and intelligent cloud devices and solutions with partners, who include OEMs, device distribution channels, original design manufacturers, and Silicon providers. The Portfolio and Solutions (P&S) Team within Device Partner Sales (DPS) is looking for a highly motivated licensing business program manager with the charter of developing, implementing and managing partner licensing, programs and policies in support of DPS priorities. We are looking for someone to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across Microsoft and Partners, both cross-function and cross-business, and influence the direction and success of Device Partner Sales (DPS) organization. This role primarily supports current and the emerging IoT & edge to cloud scenarios; with the opportunity to lead other licensing initiatives for various Microsoft products as needed. The Senior Business Program Management role is accountable for the build out of end-to-end license framework creation to support new initiatives while maintaining and supporting partners on current licensing agreements. Focus is on building scalable licensing programs, processes, enabling compliant, more efficient program execution and timely adjustments in response to market dynamics, business prioritization.

Key deliverables for the role include leading v-teams across functional areas to influence business strategy in order to drive robust product agreement development and execution for internal and external customers necessary to successfully launch products/services, license agreement renewals and pilot programs.

  • Proven program management experience of complex programs delivering business value through partners
  • Experience constructing licensing frameworks, drafting agreements and partner/customer negotiations; familiarity with Microsoft licensing, or experience working in or with Microsoft partners is a plus.
  • Qualifications include 5+ years in technology industry/company bringing products or solutions to market.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Creative problem solving and entrepreneurial in your approach
  • Effective at managing and thriving in ambiguous situations to build out business solutions
  • Confident with an ability to work and build strong relationships, willing to take on big challenges, advocate a position, build a business case, and influence others
  • Interpersonal and conflict resolutions skills that include strong negotiation skills, able to drive alignment across many teams, and can function independently with success
  • Must be a person of integrity, capable of excellent judgement and decision-making skills, showing the utmost discretion in the management of confidential corporate information
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in related fields e.g.: business, marketing, information technology, operations, finance

  • Applies broad understanding of business constructs to influence the strategy and development of Intelligent Edge products and services monetization through licensing and investment constructs for multiple partner channels (e.g., direct, indirect, distribution).
  • Engage directly with business groups, sales teams, operations and legal in support of key initiatives.
  • Draft and/or manage partner agreement(s), support channel programs, and be responsible for delivering timely and effective licensing, program, pricing and support infrastructure.
  • Create readiness materials, manage communications, training/readiness efforts for GTM, educating field and partners as appropriate.
  • Lead vNext licensing model development taking partner feedback into account to build a robust set of partner terms; drive approval process with CELA and other stakeholders.
  • Execute day-to-day run management of assigned licensing responsibilities, serving as first-line contact to research and resolve partner questions or issues.
  • Uses voice of customer frameworks and metrics to identify trends and influences process and agreement enhancements to drive higher CPE on an ongoing basis
  • Actively seeks and creates opportunities for synergies across internal groups to drive long-term solutions and shared operational simplification efforts to increase partner CPE
  • Acts on opportunities to increase agility, and contributes to workstreams to evolve processes, services, and solutions for simplification and automation.
