What are we looking for?

We're looking for someone who loves to brings in new clients and achieve client retention and renewal through the delivery of quality, value, relationship building/maintenance, and delivering upon client's business objectives. To be successful as a Business Development Director, you will have expertise of consultative selling experience in performance contracting as it relates in engineering, construction, corporate finance, project/infrastructure finance, renewable energy, real estate or government sectors. Our candidate will have a proven track record of leading successful sales teams.

What we do at McKinstry is unique - and with that, we seek to hire unique, creative, and diverse individuals. This is no small task! Being innovative - having that creative mind to source new business and build trusted partnerships is essential. This team is focused on developing energy services work within the municipal, university, school, and healthcare markets. You will work with a team and be focused specifically on the market in Texas, responsible for developing relationships and driving close-on-performance contracts within that space.

As a Business Development Director, you will deal directly with key decision-makers and influencers in the public-sector customer base and work with technical representatives in order to develop a clear understanding of the customer's needs and concerns to develop long term strategic relationships. You will be able to demonstrate proficiency in value-selling solutions. As a director, you will coach and educate customers in understanding financial business goals, uncovering challenges, and defining long-term built-environment solutions while mentoring and leading your sales team.

Your success will be measured by developing key partnerships with your clients to identify the sophisticated challenges they face and apply a strategic approach to a successful outcome. This work will include acquiring letters of intent, coordinating financing options and negotiating contracts, as needed. The successful candidate will work well with internal and external teams such as operations, finance, legal and other inside and outside resources as needed to acquire client commitment. You will also team-sell with other salespeople when appropriate and mutually beneficial while following through on sold projects to ensure expected client outcomes. Contributes to the evolution of program strategies and the design of program features, services, and marketing campaigns.
