OVERVIEW

Sentry is seeking an experienced individual for our Business Products Property Field Adjuster Senior role.    As part of the commercial property unit, you’ll play a critical part in fulfilling Sentry’s promise to be there for our customers during their time of need. This is a work-from-home position and must be domiciled in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metropolitan area.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Under remote direction and supervision, this fully experienced adjuster will conduct on site loss inspections to investigate and fully adjust from start to finish a broad range of first party Commercial Property claims, ranging from simple to complex building, business personal property, business interruption and inland marine losses to assure quality claim service. The position will also involve desk adjustments on claims in other states often utilizing local independent adjusters. The Property Field Adjuster Sr. is responsible for making final settlement decisions within their respective settlement authority and make settlement recommendations when losses are above their authority limits.

WHAT IT TAKES
  • Must be able to meet the travel requirements of the position which varies in frequency and duration. Travel is primarily within 3-4 hours of the Dallas Ft. Worth Metro area, but you may also be called upon for CAT duty assignment elsewhere in the US with additional compensation depending on duration of stay.
  • 5-8 years of progressive Commercial property claim field adjusting experience with an insurance carrier. Candidates with primarily personal lines experience, solely desk adjusting experience or solely experience as a CAT independent adjuster will not be considered.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of on-site claim investigating, adjusting, and negotiating of policies and procedures and accounting principles related to business interruption and personal property loss evaluation
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret insurance policies and other contracts
  • Proficiency using Xactimate estimating system
  • Analytical problem-solving skills, oral and written communication and planning and organizational skills 
  • Ability to make decisions appropriate and effectively negotiate with others
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record with a valid driver's license
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to climb ladders and walk on roofs
  • Successful completion of AIC, CPCU or other similar insurance designations a plus
