As a company, we emphasize building upon a strong foundation where our people can continually develop and make a difference.BASIC FUNCTION:As a Continuous Improvement Engineer you will help to employ a Lean/Six Sigma culture by implementing and coordinating continuous improvement initiatives while working closely with all teams within the organization to provide support and /or revisions to work processes, systems, and documentation. In this position you will be required to successfully implement Lean/TPS principles in several manufacturing operations that offer a diverse mix of Made-to-Order interior building products. This department will aid in the seamless & cost-effective delivery of all products and services, while maximizing the utilization of all material and labor resources. This will include the integration of superior process reliability, resulting in the delivery of high-quality products that exceed industry standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Leading and facilitating continuous improvement projects focused on streamlining manufacturing processes, space rationalization, inventory optimization, materials management, and value-added engineering.
• Support site initiatives for data collection/analysis consistent with overall targeted Business Metrics.
• Enhance or develop layouts and material presentation to improve the fabrication, assembly, and packaging operations.
• Conducting studies to optimize workflow sequence and cell designs to increase productivity and efficiency.
• Develop standard work methodologies to document work instructions for training, improvement and to ensure process reliability throughout the value stream.
• Develop robust metric systems that reflect real-time operational conditions that quickly identify known nonconformances and resulting corrective activities, as required within a lean culture.
• Lead value stream mapping exercises to determine business improvement opportunities/areas.
• Promote and implement automation to reduce/minimize labor content and product handling.
• Identify manufacturing cost reductions projects/opportunities for process improvements and provide all necessary ROI justifications.
• Utilize project management skills to prioritize tasks and consistently meet project deadlines.OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor of Science (prefer Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or similar)
  • 1-2 Years of previous related experience preferred
  • Demonstrated effectiveness & command of lean concepts/tools in a manufacturing environment.
  • Process-driven change agent with problem solving & project management skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD (or similar), MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Is highly self-motivated with the ability to work in a face-paced work environment with simultaneous and sometimes competing projects/priorities.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, written and presentation skills.
