Transforming healthcare and millions of lives as a result starts with the values you embrace and the passion you bring to achieve your life's best work.(sm)The Volunteer Coordinator is a part-time position that is responsible for management of a volunteer program, including recruitment, scheduling, recognition and retention of volunteers who work to promote independence, improve the quality of life and maintain dignity of older adults.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ability to identify potential volunteers
  • Train volunteers with the resources and methodology to accomplish the communication with the older adults
  • Develop a plan to provide contact with older persons by means of telephone calls; texting; skyping; video chatting; social media and other alternatives to establish the communication or contact with the older adults
  • Assure older adults receive community resources including participation in the senior activity centers as means to socially connect with other older adults and enhance their wellness
  • Set monthly goals for this project and have the capacity to achieve those goals
  • Assist in developing a process to ensure timely follow up and accurate reporting practicesYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:
    • 2+ years experience in social service environment
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
    • This position requires Tuberculosis screening as well as proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis through lab confirmation of immunity, documented evidence of vaccination, or a doctor's diagnosis of disease
    • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance. Candidates must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodationPreferred Qualifications:
      • Bachelor's degree in sociology, counseling, education or other related field or equivalent experience
      • Experience in social services, non-profit programs or grass roots organization
      • Senior/Medicare Population experience
