The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department
of Internal Medicine, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care
Medicine, is seeking an Assistant Professor position for our lung
transplant program. Applicant must have an M.D. degree from an
approved LCME medical school and satisfactory completion of an
Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary/Critical Care fellowship
from an ACGME accredited program. Applicant must in addition have
at least three years dedicated lung transplant experience.
Candidate must be eligible for Texas medical licensure and be board
certified in Internal Medicine and board certified/eligible in
Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. Duties include
providing and supervising patient care in ambulatory lung
transplant clinics and inpatient services, and postoperative care
of lung and heart-lung transplant patients at the University and
its affiliated hospitals, performing bronchoscopic procedures, and
teaching and training of residents and subspecialty fellows.
Compliance with the COVID-19 vaccine mandate enforced by the
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) is a requirement for this
position. Federal law requires individuals holding this position to
be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption for certain
medical, disability, or religious reasons. Individuals who do not
