Technologist, $10K Sign On BonusShift: Various shifts are
availableSUMMARYWorks under minimal supervision with the physicians
to perform two or more of the following areas MRI, CT, US,
Mammography, and/or Diagnostic Imaging: exams, exam protocols,
accreditation, operations, and facilitation of equipment
maintenance.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAmerican Registry of Radiologic
Technologists - ARRT (R) or ARRT (CT) or ARRT (MR) or ARRT (M) or
ARRT (BS). Licensed by Texas Medical Board (excluding MRI). Basic
Life Support (BLS) certification, course accredited by the American
Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) by first day of
employment is required. Graduate from AMA approved school. T wo
years of experience is preferred.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSJob
Duties:Review physician orders for accuracy, diagnosis, sedation,
and applicability to the imaging protocol. Screen patients for
contrast allergies, contraindications, implants, metallic devices,
foreign objects, and appropriateness that would prohibit or modify
the imaging exam. Discuss findings with the radiologist including
the ordering provider and/or physicist as applicable. If
modification of protocol is necessary, consult with radiologist to
determine appropriate, parameters, sequences, etc. Document changes
as appropriate in electronic health record. Ensure other resources
such as nursing, anesthesia, or rooms have been scheduled
accordingly.Actively participates in the patient hand-off.
Interviews patient (two patient identifier), and obtains medical
history pertaining to procedures and clinical criteria. Explains
procedure and instructs patient on necessary requirements needed to
provide diagnostic images. Answers questions/screening concerning
procedures and IV contrast for relevant exams. Assists the
physician as needed in performing procedures. Ensures that images
and records are properly completed with patient identification data
and appropriate labeling. Utilizes technical knowledge and skills
to perform procedures accurately and in a timely manner in
accordance with age specific criteria.Completes exam charges and
image documentation in a timely manner. Administers oral and/or
intravenous injections of contrast material as appropriate,
observes patients for adverse reactions. Accesses patient for fall
risk, assists patient in dressing for exam and attends to patient's
mental and physical well-being while transporting to and from exam
room including positioning for exam. Instructs/communicates with
patient and/or patient's family (as appropriate) regarding the
tests to be performed and evaluates the patient's ability to
tolerate exam.Quality Control - performs daily and monthly QC
testing as required for compliance. Places service calls for
imaging equipment/workstations to service engineer/biomed, with
additional correspondence sent to the physicist and imaging
leadership. Follows archiving/storing quality control
measures/images including various data sets (ex. Baseline scans,
12-month scans, 24-month scans). Performs data calculations,
scoring and statistical analyses while following established QC
standards for digital images. Participates in accreditation imaging
requirements.Performs post processing on imaging equipment and
remote workstations. May include, but not limited to, MIPing, MPR,
3-D rendering, qualitative and color mapping for breast imaging,
ADC mapping and color mapping of diffusion scans, cardiac analysis
to assess cardiac function including ejection fractions and wall
thickness, spectroscopy analysis, and calculation of T1 and T2
values. Must be able to lift 40-50lbs.Responds to
inquiries/calls/emails in a timely and professional manner.
Communicates shift hand off regarding workflow issues with
equipment or pending exams with oncoming staff. Engages in
equitable distribution of departmental workloads. Actively
participates in providing orientation and training for new hires
and students ensuring that procedures are performed according to
set standards. Functions in the department as a part of an
interdisciplinary team, and collaborates in the care and service
delivery process of patient care through effective communication
with other service lines. Prioritizes exams with scheduling exams
to ensure smooth workflow, minimize wait times and address stat and
urgent requests. Adheres to hospital policies, regulatory
compliance, new yearly metrics/department goals, patient
satisfaction, and fiscally responsible with regards to equipment,
supplies scheduling, overtime, etc. Maintains patient
confidentiality and ensures that all processes and procedures are
maintained to secure and protect all workstations in all work
areas.Research as applicable: Duties performed may include one or
more of the following core functions: a) Directly interacting with
or caring for human-subjects research participants; b) Regularly
maintaining, modifying, releasing or similarly affecting
human-subjects research records.Performs other duties as
assignedWORKING CONDITIONSWork is performed primarily in a hospital
or hospital clinic environmentAny qualifications to be considered
as equivalents in lieu of stated minimum require prior approval of
