passion. -Primary PurposeTAC (Terminal Agency Coordinator) serves
as team lead for dispatcher while serving as the point of contact
at the local agency for matters relating to CJIS information
access. The TAC administers CJIS systems programs within the local
agency and oversees the agency's compliance with CJIS systems
policies. (CJIS Policy 3.2.2). -Minimum Specifications
-EducationHigh School Diploma or GED -ExperienceMust have five
years of experience dispatching for a law enforcement agency.Must
have a Class C driver's license. -Equivalent Education and/or
Experience -None -Certification/Registration/Licensure -Must have
an Advanced Telecommunicator Proficiency Certification or higher.
-Required Tests for PlacementNone -Skills or Special Abilities
-Must satisfactorily complete pre-employment test(s).Operate as a
Telecommunications Operator.Must have a thorough knowledge of
communication systems and police operational procedures.Must be
familiar with current federal, state laws and HIPPA regulations
protecting an individual's privacy. -Must have working knowledge in
the operation of dispatch equipment, general office and clerical
practices and computers. -Must be able to speak clearly and
distinctly over the telephone and radio. -Must be able to remain
calm in high stress situations. -Monitor all radio transmissions.
-Maintain accurate records of officers and/or unit status as all
times. -Mentor team members and demonstrate positive attitude.
-Responsibilities1. Receives, records, and processes requests for
service or assistance and radio dispatch officers to provide
appropriate police response.2. Trains, coaches, mentors and serves
as a process resource for all dispatchers.3. Notify DPS Crime
Records Division of any changes in your agency's TAC, Agency
Administrator, address, email, and phone numbers.4. Ensure the
agency's NLETS ORION and NCIC ORI file is correct and up to date,
including non-terminal and non-24-hour terminal agencies with
signed agreements.5. Ensure the NCIC Operation Manual, NCIC Code
Manual and all Crime Records Newsletters are current and available
to all personnel with TCIC/NCIC access.6. Ensure all TLETS
terminals are secure from unauthorized viewing and use.7. Ensure
all agency personnel that handles TCIC/NCIC information are
fingerprinted, and those fingerprints are submitted for state and
national checks.8. Ensure all personnel and others accessing the
TCIC/NCIC system or information derived from the system, are
trained in TCIC/NCIC policies and procedures.9. Ensure all terminal
operators are trained in the HIT Confirmation procedures and all
documentation supporting TCIC/NCIC records are available 24 hours/7
day a week.10. Ensure all agency personnel are trained in
Computerized Criminal History information policies and procedures.
11. Ensure all records are entered, modified or removed and contain
all available information in accordance with TCIC/NCIC policies and
procedures.12. Ensure TCIC/NCIC records are validated correctly
each month, and the Crime Records Division/TCIC Operations is
notified by the due date.13. Ensure all quality control messages
from TCIC/NCIC are reviewed and corrected. Address any related
issues involving TCIC/TLETS. - -Parkland Health and Hospital System
