Experience and Education High school diploma orequivalent. Must be
able to read,write and communicate in English. Familiarity with
medicalterminology. Working knowledge ofbasic computer software
skills. Must have one year acutecare inpatient hospital experience.
Certified nursingassistant certificate, certified medical assistant
certificate or completed thefirst semester of nursing clinicals.
Current Basic LifeSupport (BLS) certification, course accredited by
the American HeartAssociation (AHA). Must achieve validationof
required core competencies and training within 6 months of
employment. Job Duties
- Provide patient care under thedirection of nursing staff being
certain to only perform tasks in whichtraining and/or competency
has been validated.
- Collect, monitor, and documentpertinent data relating to
patient functioning and care to include but notlimited to: intake
and output, weight, temperature, pulse, respirations,and blood
pressure. Recognizes and immediately reports values outsidenormal
parameters to the nurse.
- Perform patient rounding beingsure to report any changes in a
patient's condition or behaviorimmediately to the nurse. Seeks
assistance and guidance as needed toensure that patient care is
delivered in a safe, high quality andeffective manner at all
- Assess, identify, and monitorenvironmental, patient, and the
patient's family needs in a respectful,positive, and timely manner
to achieve satisfaction.
- Perform basic hygiene care inaccordance with the Department of
Nursing policies, procedures and unitstandards to include but not
limited to pericare, oral care, dailyhygiene, linen changes, skin
changes, and foley care.
- Transfer and transport patientsin accordance with policies and
procedures with specific consideration toage-specific and safety
- Resolve patient concerns byinitiating service recovery and
immediately escalating patient, family,visitors and staff concerns
through the chain of command.
- Build meaning and sustainablerelationships of trust through
open and interactive communication withmembers of the healthcare
- Prepare, update, anddisseminate reports at the change of shift
and when changes are noted inthe patient's condition.
- Support the administrative andclinical operations of assigned

- Collaborates with other nursingstaff and hospital employees to
create an environment that is conducive tothe retention of
