Job Description:

The Principal Learning and Development Consultant applies educational expertise to lead learning projects and deliver educational solutions related to the electronic medical record and other technology that is used in the organization. This role delivers standard and expert-level content, and supports education solutions for new hires, experienced users, and system changes/upgrades. The Principal Learning and Development Consultant uses data to recommend enhancements, consults and collaborates with stakeholders to develop training solutions, as well as maintains curriculum and tools to meet educational needs of providers and clinical staff. Principal Learning and Development Consultants configure the training environments and technologies to support business workflow simulation and practice.--MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONSEducation:- Must have a Bachelor's degree in a related field- Prefer Master's degree in a related field--Experience:- Must have two (2) plus years of experience in the end-to-end education process from initial analysis to evaluation- Must have at least five years of Epic user experience with a business module- Prefer five (5) years of experience delivering training to end-users on computer-based applications- Prefer two (2) years of experience training Epic's suite of business applications--Equivalent Education and/or Experience- May have an equivalent experience to substitute for the education requirement--Certification/Registration/Licensure:- Must have certification in Epic business application and TED--Skills or Special Abilities:- Must have knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and measurement of training effects- Must demonstrate the ability to learn and apply knowledge quickly, and to translate complex ideas into simple terms- Must have knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and the impact on learning and motivation- Must demonstrate superior training and group facilitation skills with an emphasis on adult education including relevant technologies, methods and tools- Must possess superior communication skills both verbally and in writing and be able to communicate with all levels of Parkland staff.- Must be analytical, organized and creative with multiple projects and able to effectively deliver presentations and training programs- Must demonstrate a superior knowledge of PCs and mobile devices, proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software- Must demonstrate strong leadership, teamwork and interpersonal skills- Must possess superior customer service skills and patient centered values--Responsibilities:1. Applies learning and development expertise to lead training projects.2. Reviews, tests, and provides feedback on peer projects; and coaches junior educators.3. Actively collaborates with cross-functional experts to ensure full integration of relevant workflow, technologies, and standards of practice.4. Configures and maintains the training environment for systems used for new-hire training, test-outs, and practice for new features and workflows. Partners with appropriate experts to address technical issues impacting the learning environment.5. Plans and facilitates training for staff using a variety of techniques and documents training completion for records management. This may also include the development and maintenance of competency test-outs for new staff with prior, relevant experience.6. In collaboration with others; analyzes, designs, develops, implements, and evaluates training solutions for system changes and regular upgrades. Ensures proper communication to impacted staff and operational teams; assists with support strategies during implementation.7. Participates on project teams to deliver effective learning solutions. This includes an emphasis on measuring training effectiveness and positive learning outcomes.8. Maintains all related training curriculum through regular observations with staff as well as a cadence with key stakeholders and analysts.9. Partners with Senior Learning Consultants to develop programs based on organization priorities.10. Constructs supplemental reference materials such as job aids and FAQ documents for use by employees.11. Audits on-line and instructor-led training on a scheduled basis to ensure accuracy and relevance. Reviews evaluation and survey data for outcomes and feedback. Recommends and implements approved updates. Ensure quality standards are being met in all training modalities.12. Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field of learning and EHR, and integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.13. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact the Learning and Development areas. Develops effective internal controls that promote adherence to applicable state/federal laws, and the program requirements of accreditation agencies and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as necessary to ensure proper understanding.14.
