WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Estimator to be located in on of our Dallas, Texas offices. Your Impact * Prepares work to be estimated by gathering drawings, specifications, and related documents for various disciplines. * Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents. * Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements. * Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information. * Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information. * Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. * Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data. * Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications. * Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Who You Are Required Qualifications * 5+ years related experience in architectural/heavy civil/structural/utility elements for infrastructure/buildings/vertical construction projects * A Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (e.g. Civil Engineering), Construction Management, or related * Demonstrated skill/experience in development of Conceptual through Bid Document crew-based or unit price cost estimates * Strong knowledge of On-Screen Takeoff software and MS Office applications. * Able to read plans and develop cost estimates * Strong understanding of construction processes * Able to demonstrate progressively-increasing responsibility in estimating, working effectively with minimal supervision. * Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures * Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies Preferred Qualifications * Working knowledge in use of HCSS HeavyBid, Sage Timberline, and/or other estimating software applications * Construction contractor estimating experienc #LI-VD1 Additional Requirements * To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily.
