We also provide ground handling, aircraft components & exchanges and regional UAV services.Position Overview:The Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) Maintenance Specialist is responsible for small UAV (sUAV) maintenance and routine service, ensuring the vehicles conform to design, and are in safe operating condition. This candidate is expected to collaborate with Ameriflight teams, vehicle manufacturers and customers to train and deliver on their assigned responsibilities. This individual should possess strong analytical skills, be a self-starter, and be able to work independently.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The UAV Maintenance Specialist will oversee and perform assembly, inspection, and repair of sUAV & associated system components utilizing approved technical publications, maintenance standards and approved procedures.
  • Conduct initial training for new UAV program employees, including instruction on inspection, repair, and ground operation of vehicles,
  • Provide internal technical support, including assistance in troubleshooting, component removal/replacement and testing and documentation,
  • Interpret engineering drawings and diagrams as well as work instructions and manuals related to vehicle maintenance and operations.
  • Receive, organize and track parts and consumable supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned.Qualification Requirements:
    • Documented ability to train employees in all aspects of sUAV maintenance and ground operations.
    • Must have good interpersonal skills with the ability to interface cooperatively with departmental personnel and customers.
    • Familiar with maintenance guidelines as defined in 14 CFR 43.
    • Possess excellent attention to detail, time management, organizational and communication skills.
    • Must be able to work both independently and collaboratively on projects and assignments.
    • Ability to prioritize and effectively execute multiple tasks.
    • Mechanical and electrical integration or assembly experience.
    • Demonstrate proactive safety mindset in ambiguous situations.
    • Familiar with common business applications, especially MS Office suite and SQL
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and exemplary organizational skills.
    • Must be able to travel up to 25% of annual work hours. May occasionally require travel nights, weekends and holidays.
    • Ability lift and move up to 50 pounds.Education and/or Experience:
      • FAA A&P Certificates preferred.
      • FAA Remote Pilot Certificate preferred.
      • Experience in the aviation industry.
      • Familiar with Python or other scripting languages.
      • Valid driver's license with the ability to operate a motor vehicle.Benefits:
