begins with you. About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior
Risk Analytics Consultant to become a member of the Corporate Risk
Consumer and Small Business Banking team. As a member of this team,
you will participate in strategic portfolio risk initiatives for
the commercial real estate, practice finance and asset secured
lending products. More specifically, you will be evaluating and
sizing risk and opportunities, supporting the development of credit
underwriting and risk management strategies by balancing
data-driven analytics and sound credit risk judgment, and managing
credit exposure risk at the product and customer level. You will
work closely with partners within Credit Risk, Product, Operations,
Technology and Data Solution groups to implement new enhancements
and continuously optimize portfolio risk strategies. To be
effective in this position, you will need to have a good
understanding of credit from a full lifecycle perspective, a broad
perspective on risk management, a proven track record of using the
results of your analysis to drive business decisions and be fluent
in both the key technical tools of credit risk decisioning and
sound credit judgment. In this role, you will:
- Lead or participate in complex initiatives, and delivering
insight and decision strategies within analytics and reporting, and
contribute to large-scale planning related to Risk Analytics
- Review and analyze moderately complex data aggregation,
forecasting, reporting, and programming models
- Improve risk strategies in multiple areas (credit line
management, authorizations, transaction fraud, etc.) by performing
various complex activities related to business analysis and/or
modeling
- Coordinate production of monthly, quarterly, and annual
performance reports for senior management, review and analyze
trends in current population distributions and recommending
strategies
- Provide analytical support on business credit, operating losses
and other product strategies to ensure company goals are met
- Segment and monitor various credit risk and other
concentrations and make recommendations to management based on
those trends
- Be responsible for process production, data reconciliation, and
model documentation in alignment with policy governance
- Resolve data, production, business modeling, and lead team to
meet Risk Analytics deliverables while leveraging solid
understanding of risk reporting policies, modeling strategies,
procedures, regulatory requests, and compliance requirements
- Collaborate and consult with peers, experienced managers,
compliance, and technology to resolve modeling, forecasting, and
production issues, and achieve analytic and reporting goals
- Lead projects, teams, and mentor less experienced staff
- Partner with cross enterprise risk analysts in development of
common modeling strategies Required Qualifications, US:
- 4+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent
demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work
experience, training, military experience, education
- 2+ years of experience with SAS or SQL, or other data
management, reporting and query tools Desired Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in quantitative discipline such as economics,
statistics, operations research, etc.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, quantitative skills
- Previous experience with credit risk strategy development and
implementation in financial service industry
- Ability to gather, analyze, package, and present analytical
findings in an insightful and logical manner
- Dedicated, enthusiastic, performance-orientation, and strong
work ethic
- Experience with transaction authorizations and fraud prevention
analysis
- Attention to detail, strong project management and organization
skills
