This is a Senior Analyst level role responsible for the design, configuration, and support of an Epic application(s). The role requires building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and helping them in solving complex challenges in healthcare. Analysts will be required to provide exemplary customer service and maintain detailed documentation in their assigned Epic application(s).

The Epic Application Senior Analyst will help create and foster a culture of diversity and inclusion within a new and growth-minded service line for UnitedHealth Group. The Senior Analyst will exemplify and reflect the UnitedHealth Group core Values

The Senior Analyst must be a self-motivated individual with exceptional communication, presentation and people skills and the ability to work well in team environments.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Successfully complete all required job training, including Epic certification, and keep certifications up to date
  • Be familiar with and document operational and clinical workflows. Perform gap analysis to identify deviations from best practice standards
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with all project stakeholders
  • Prepare presentations and system demonstrations to share workflow and functionality capabilities with stakeholders and end-users
  • Facilitate agreement to best-practice workflows and encourage standardization during stakeholder design sessions
  • Complete build configuration prototypes and obtain sign-off from stakeholders
  • Work in collaboration with members from the application team, technical team counterparts, Epic subject-matter experts, and other internal and external configuration experts to ensure build is functional and ready for integrated testing
  • Become familiar with imports/exports into/from Epic environments
  • Excel at documenting client meeting and technical specifications
  • Participate in and complete integrated testing
  • Work with stakeholder groups and the project team to conduct and receive end-user validation
  • Participate in and present build migration needs during Change Approval Board meetings
  • Be familiar and stay up to date with regulatory requirements relevant to the scope of applications managed
  • Provide input and support the development of training curriculum and materials
  • Support production activation
  • Provide support to end users related to scope of application(s) for break/fix, optimization/enhancements, and upgrades. Respond to critical production issues in accordance with an on-call schedule
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production interfaces
  • Be willing to receive feedback
  • Participate in best practice publications and case study creation for internal evangelization, external prospective client review and vendor conferences (like Epic's User Group Meeting)
  • Performs other duties as assigned

    • Obtained 1 up-to-date Epic certification in an Access (Prelude, Grand Central, Cadence), HIM, clinical (EpicCare Ambulatory, ClinDoc, Inpatient Procedure Orders or ancillary) or Revenue Cycle (Resolute - Hospital or Professional Billing)
    • 2+ years of experience in Epic application support and optimization and able to provide numerous optimization project examples
    • Experience working with ticket management systems
    • Proficiency with the Microsoft office suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, Teams, Visio, and Word
    • Ability to travel up to 10% annually, USA domestic locations. Travel may be lower depending on project requirements
    • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements.       Preferred Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's degree or higher obtained
      • Additional Epic certification(s) and/or experience
      • Epic certified in Ambulatory or Revenue Cycle application(s)
      • Completed a full life-cycle Epic implementation
      • Certification in Service Management, Project Management, or Business Analysis
      • Consulting experience with a focus on analyzing and interpreting client needs and creating value through professional product delivery
      • Familiarity with process improvement and software development methodologies (like Agile)
      • Proven history of positive team collaboration -

        Key Competencies:

        • Exhibit excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and an ability to balance and fulfill multiple priorities
        • Adhere to an analytical approach with an ability to solve complex problems
        • In-depth knowledge of Epic EHR and the full implementation lifecycle of Epic's suite of EHR applications
        • History of implementing performance improvement initiatives aimed at improving end user service, operating costs, group functions & productivity
        • Familiarity with usability concepts and techniques
        • Demonstrate the ability to build and maintain solid internal and external relationships
        • Maturity in relationship management skills and ability to manage challenging interpersonal situations

          California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $67,800 to $133,100. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
