Responsibilities









The Purchasing Specialist will be responsible for the execution of the corporate procurement processes including request for proposals, vendor selection, contracting, buying, policy adherence and other purchasing activities as assigned. Duties include:

• Manage the RFQ and RFP process, review vendors, analyze bids, execute purchase orders and follow the process through project completion; evaluate and select contractors based on corporate criteria including price, safety performance, environmental compliance, financial strength, and overall best value.
• Participate in project planning and on execution teams; consult with its members on vendor/contractor bid list and final selection recommendations.
• Utilize PeopleSoft to create purchase orders, manage purchase order revisions, and provide support to project managers for issue resolution.
• Review contract terms and conditions, communicate issues to appropriate parties, and consult with contracts analyst and project team to lead negotiation.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • 6+ years of purchasing experience in Major Projects
  • Familiarity with Oil and Gas major projects preferred
  • Experience with PeopleSoft a plus
  • Detail oriented
  • Customer service focused
  • Ability to negotiate
