Tech II FLSA Status: Hourly Department: Maintenance--SUMMARY:To
work interdependently and cooperatively to meet and exceed the
expectations of the customer, the company and the department,
through established and maintained recurrent, often unconscious
patterns of positive / productive behavior that is acquired through
frequent repetition. Showing care for the customer and fellow
employees, but not compromising company or personal
standards.--ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBLITIES:Routinely inspect
equipmentEvaluate the integrity of equipment and determine
potential equipment failures and report concerns to the maintenance
lead and / or supervisor.Identify equipment issues that are an
employee and / or a food safety hazard.Perform maintenance
dutiesMaintain, operate and diagnose process equipment.Fabricate
various items as needed for process equipment.Evaluate and
contribute to the management of the parts inventory level.Operate
equipmentNecessary to verify proper pre-operational maintenance
tasks.Maintain all required maintenance & company records and
documents--Basic Job RequirementsIndustrial Electrical
Certification.Electrical Diagnosis CertificationRETA Assistant
Ammonia Operator Certification.MP2 Basics Certification.Formax
Operation Certification.Able to properly size a motor for an
application.Understands tasks of MaintenanceComplete tasks as
assigned by maintenance lead and / or supervisor.Good attendance is
a must and must be flexible to work overtime including
weekends.--Miscellaneous ResponsibilitiesKeep work area clean and
free of clutter and debrisAttend GMP & Safety meetingsParticipate
in a minimum of (1) focus group.Follow all food safety (GMP) and
safety guidelines.Take out maintenance shop trash and keep locker
area clean.Keep personal tools cleaned, maintained and kept.--Food
Safety and Employee SafetyMaintenance personnel shall have a
thorough understanding of G.M.P. s and follow
accordingly.Maintenance personnel shall have a thorough
understanding of Standard Meat Company s Maintenance Program,
Safety programs and all Company policies and follow
accordingly.Appropriate personal safety equipment must be used at
all times.Bump caps, steel toe boots or shoes and hair nets shall
be worn on plant premises.Clean frocks shall be worn in production
and vinyl gloves as needed.Tools must be kept clean.Under no
circumstances shall any equipment safety devices be bypassed at any
time.Job assignments shall be made and coordinated by the
Supervisor of Maintenance - either verbal, written memo or listed
on the weekly maintenance task list.--OTHER SKILLS AND
ABILITIES:Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems.Knowledge of
Electrical, Plumbing and Mechanical Systems.Ability to use and
operate hand tools, power tools and electrical multi-meterAbility
to read and understand technical documents, drawings and
blueprints.Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
required.Each member of the maintenance team must be a motivated
self starter with the ability to work under minimum
supervision.Strong verbal and written communication skills
required.Computer skills required.Essential Responsibilities
