SUMMARY: The Sales Development Leader develops sales colleagues from hire to validation. This individual leads and manages the activities essential to the sales development training program. This includes partnering with Talent Acquisition to target and recruit new sales advisors to the insurance industry and guide/coach them through their validation period. A successful candidate will collaborate with agency and office leaders to organize, create (if needed) and implement consistent regional training program aligned with national programming. This includes, working with mentors and manage the agency's resources to execute the program. An important component will be providing coaching and support to new sales hires, and guiding them to be accountable to their development goals. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing sales colleagues from hire to validation (program graduation).
  • Serves as the lead on the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the training program.
  • Support growth by leading sales trainings, sales meetings, "call days" and other business development initiatives sponsored nationally and locally, including the development and support of the region's sales development training program.
  • Partner with national training efforts, including MMA Accelerate and Operation Validation Training initiatives.
  • Serve as the lead and point of contact for recruiting new candidates to the program, partnering with Talent Acquisition to target and recruit new sales advisors to the insurance industry.
  • Serves as the lead for all new sales development activities, to ensure new hires are prepared to validate on time or earlier.
  • Organizes mentorship program for new advisors.
  • Tracks and monitors the progress of new advisors, providing coaching and accountability to ensure their development stays on track.
  • Meets with program members to regularly provide feedback.
  • Assists with other projects in support of sales growth.
  • Provides progress updates of new hire acquisitions and progress to sales leaders. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: -- Bachelor's Degree in business related field preferred or equivalent experience -- Sales management and/or experience-- Experience in business to business sales organization desired-- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and business targets-- Experience mentoring and developing others to meet or exceed goals SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) with quick and accurate aptitude to learn new systems
  • Ability to collaborate with different levels of management and departments
  • Excellent communication skills, including listening, speaking and writing
  • Big picture thinker, sees the whole value chain of the customer experience
  • Ability to network and go to events to recruit colleagues for the sales programs
  • Self-starter, with excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
